International Overdose Awareness Day – Harrisonburg

As part of  International Overdose Awareness Day (Saturday, August 31st), JMU Students for Sensible Drug Policy, Virginia DanceSafe, Virginia REVIVE!, Rockingham Harrisonburg Health Department,  and Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board are teaming up to educate the public on harm reduction practices and resources for those who want to start or continue their road to recovery.  As part of this 3 hour long programming, Virginia REVIVE! will be doing an opioid overdose reversal medication (naloxone) training with Rockingham Harrisonburg Health Department giving out Narcan afterword, Virginia DanceSafe will be doing live reagent drug test and fentanyl test strip demonstrations, and Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board will be providing food and recovery resources. 

 

This event is open and free to the public and we highly encourage those who are the most vulnerable to overdosing come out.
